From the first official event launched in 2012, West Bay Days has been run by a dedicated group of community volunteers who all share a singular mission: To run the very best FREE TO ATTEND local events for our community and visitors’ to enjoy, and invest back into the community by raising funds to distribute to local groups and charities.

We are delighted that fundraising has increased year on year through the popularity of our events. As a result, in 2025 we were able to distribute over £30,000 to our Beneficiaries which is a fantastic achievement.

This year West Bay Days is delighted to be working with the following Beneficiaries:

• 1st Bothenhampton Rainbows and Brownies

• 1st Bridport Scouts

• Bridport Bandits Youth Motor Project

• Bridport Barracudas Swimming Club

• Bridport Mens Wellness Group

• Friends of West Bay Discovery Centre

• Bridport Youth Football Club

• South West Kick Boxing

• West Dorset Rethink Carer Support Group

Beneficiaries are selected by the West Bay Days committee in January each year from applications made by local groups and charities.

Contact details and expressions of interest for potential new applicants are gathered throughout the year.

Potential Beneficiaries are invited to an information meeting in January where the activities of West Bay Days are explained in detail.

We outline the nature of their role working with us throughout the year to support the running of our events and explain how they are able to benefit from the profits of the events.

Following the meeting, interested groups and charities have 10 days to submit their applications to become Beneficiaries for the year ahead.

The West Bay Days committee will then meet to select Beneficiaries for the year and the outcome of this meeting is communicated to all applicants within one week of the meeting.
